Service bulletins

What Genesis told its dealers about the 2019 Genesis G80: known faults, fixes and updates.

BulletinSummary
11009768Certain GV70 (JK1, JK1A), GV80 (JX1) and G80 (RG3) vehicles may have a hum or whine noise condition from the rear differential at certain speeds. This bulletin describes the procedure to inspect the vehicle for the hum or whine noise and if necessary to tighten the rear differential lock nut first. If the hum or whine noise remains, then replace the rear differential or other driveline components as necessary.
11006825This bulletin provides information to inspect and replace the front or rear wheel bearing hub assemblies for all Genesis vehicles. This procedure is applicable when noise (whirring, roaring, grinding, rumbling, etc.) is present which gets louder when driving with more speed.
10253053This TSB provides consolidated diagnosis and repair information, currently in the shop manual, to address DTC U0109 / U010900 related to a communication error with the Fuel Pump Control Module (FPCM).
10253049Genesis applies a Paint Protection Film (PPF) on new vehicles before delivery to dealerships. It provides a barrier between the paint and contaminants, such as rail dust, acid rain, and industrial fallout. In rare cases, the paint can become clouded under the PPF. These spots are the result of moisture trapped between the PPF and the paint.
10253048This TSB provides a procedure to diagnose and repair a transmission for the following Incorrect Ratio DTC (transmission clutch slipping more than 200 rpm in gear).
10253046Certain 2019-2020 G80 (DH) vehicles may have a condition where the seat backboard comes loose. This bulletin describes the procedure to replace the seat backboard clip.
10253043This bulletin provides a procedure to diagnose an 8-speed automatic transaxle with a harsh and/or delayed shift.
10253042This bulletin provides a procedure to transfer oil pressure data to the TCU using GDS Mobile. This procedure is necessary to reduce the TCU learning time and improve the shift quality. Before replacing an automatic transmission: Input the data into the TCU using the GDS. Before replacing a TCU: Back up the oil pressure data from the old TCU into the GDS and then transfer the data to the new TCM.
10253038This bulletin provides a procedure to transfer oil pressure data to the TCU using GDS Mobile. This procedure is necessary to reduce the TCU learning time and improve the shift quality. Before replacing an automatic transmission (Pages 2~3): Input the data from the new transmission into the TCU using the GDS. Before replacing a TCU (Pages 4~6): Back up the oil pressure data from the old TCU into the GDS and then transfer the data to the new TCM.
10253036The bulletin describes the procedure to measure and set propeller shaft angles to optimize driveline vibration performance on certain 2019-2020MY 3.8L AWD G80 (DH) vehicles.
10253034Some vehicles may experience seat noise and/or possible wobble movement from the seat bottom when the vehicle is turning. This bulletin describes the procedure to install an e-ring clip to the tilt pipe housing on the front seat.
10253033Certain 2019-2020 G80 (DH) vehicles may have a condition where the seat backboard comes loose. This bulletin describes the procedure to replace the seat backboard clip.
