The issue

On certain trucks with an ISX15 engine and a 1.9 M cab, the engine wiring harness is missing circuits to allow the illumination of Check (CEL) and Stop (SEL) Engine Lamps and sounding of the Stop Engine Alarm. A failure to notify the operator of a serious engine problem may result in an engine failure without warning, and loss of motive power while the vehicle is in motion, which could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or property damage. Correction: Dealers will inspect and/or test the engine harness for the missing circuits, and if found missing, an overlay jumper harness will be installed.

Sur certains camions dotés d'un moteur ISX15 et d'une cabine de 1,9 m, les circuits permettant au témoin d'anomalie du moteur (CEL) et au voyant d'arrêt du moteur (SEL) de s'allumer et à l'alarme d'arrêt du moteur de se déclencher pourraient ne pas avoir été intégrés au faisceau de câblage du moteur. Si un grave problème de moteur se produisait et que le conducteur n'en était pas avisé, le moteur pourrait cesser de fonctionner sans avertissement et provoquer une perte de puissance motrice alors que le véhicule est en mouvement, ce qui pourrait augmenter les risques d'accident pouvant entraîner des blessures ou des dommages matériels (ou les deux). Mesure corrective : Les concessionnaires devront inspecter ou vérifier le faisceau de câblage du moteur pour déterminer si les circuits sont manquants. Le cas échéant, un faisceau de connexion connexe devra être posé.
