The issue

Issue: On certain vehicles, the driver-front airbag could deploy without warning. Safety Risk: An airbag that deploys without a crash could create a risk of injury. It could also increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: The company will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a Daimler Trucks North America Authorized Service Facility to install a new airbag wiring harness and clockspring. Note: This supersedes recall 2018-624. Trucks that were fixed require a second repair under this recall.

Problème : Le coussin gonflable avant côté conducteur de certains véhicules pourrait se déployer subitement. Risque pour la sécurité : Le déploiement d'un coussin gonflable en l'absence d'une collision pourrait engendrer des blessures et augmenter les risques d'accident. Mesures correctives : Le constructeur doit aviser les propriétaires par courrier d'apporter leur véhicule à un centre de service autorisé de Daimler Trucks North America pour faire installer un nouveau faisceau de câbles et un contacteur annulaire du volant. Remarque : Le présent rappel remplace le rappel 2018-624. Les camions qui ont déjà été réparés doivent être réparés une deuxième fois dans le cadre du présent rappel.
