The issue

Issue: On certain trucks, the electric tailgate latch could malfunction. This may cause the tailgate to unlatch on its own. If the tailgate opens while driving, cargo that is not secured could fall out of the truck bed and onto the road. Safety Risk: Cargo that falls from the truck bed could create a road hazard for others. Corrective Actions: Ford will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a Ford or Lincoln dealer to modify the tailgate/frame wiring harnesses and will install a new tailgate handle release switch.

Problème : Sur certains camions, le verrou électrique du hayon pourrait mal fonctionner. Cela pourrait faire en sorte que le hayon se déverrouille de lui-même. Si le hayon s'ouvre pendant la conduite, les marchandises non fixées pourraient tomber de la plateforme du camion et sur la route. Risques pour la sécurité : Des marchandises qui tombent de la plateforme d'un camion pourraient causer une danger routier pour les autres. Mesures correctives : Ford doit aviser les propriétaires par la poste d'apporter leur véhicule chez un concessionnaire Ford ou Lincoln pour faire modifier les faisceaux de fils du hayon/châssis et pour faire installer un nouveau loquet de poignée de hayon.
