The issue

Issue: On certain trucks, the compliance label lists an incorrect Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR). This could lead to overloading and cause poor handling or a tire failure. Safety Risk: Poor handling or a tire failure could cause a loss of control and result in a crash. Corrective Actions: Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take the truck to a DTNA authorized service facility to install a label with the correct GAWR. For one of the involved trucks, the tires will also be replaced.

Problème : Sur certains camions, l'étiquette de conformité indique un poids nominal brut à l'essieu (PNBE) incorrect, ce qui pourrait entraîner une surcharge et provoquer une manœuvrabilité médiocre ou une défaillance des pneus. Risques pour la sécurité : Une manœuvrabilité médiocre ou une défaillance des pneus pourrait entraîner une perte de contrôle et provoquer un accident. Mesures correctives : Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) doit aviser les propriétaires par la poste et leur demander d'amener le camion à un centre de service agréé par DTNA pour y faire installer une étiquette avec le bon poids nominal. Pour l'un des camions concernés, les pneus seront également remplacés.
