The issue

Issue: On certain vehicles, a front brake hose may be too long and could rub against the steering mechanism. This can cause damage to the hose that could result in a brake fluid leak. If this happens, a driver may have reduced braking. Safety Risk: Reduced braking can cause extended stopping distances and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Volkswagen will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to inspect the front brake hose. It will be replaced, if necessary.

Problème : Sur certains véhicules, un tuyau de frein avant pourrait être trop long et pourrait frotter contre le mécanisme de direction. Cela pourrait endommager le tuyau, ce qui pourrait entraîner une fuite de liquide de frein. Si cela se produit, la capacité de freinage du véhicule pourrait être réduite. Risques pour la sécurité : Une capacité de freinage réduite pourrait accroître la distance d'arrêt et augmenter les risques d'accident. Mesures correctives : Volkswagen doit aviser les propriétaires par la poste et leur demander d'amener leur véhicule chez un concessionnaire pour inspecter le tuyau de frein avant. Il sera remplacé au besoin.
