The issue

Issue: On certain trucks, the Hill Start Assist valve assembly could be damaged by contact with the rear axle. If this happens, there could be reduced braking or a loss of rear brakes. Safety Risk: Reduced braking or a loss of rear brakes can cause extended stopping distances and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: PACCAR will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a dealer to inspect the clearance between the Hill Start Assist valve assembly and the rear axle. The dealer will rework the assembly if more clearance is needed.

Problème : Sur certains camions, la soupape de l'assistance au démarrage en côte pourrait être endommagée en entrant en contact l'essieu arrière. Si cela se produisait, il pourrait y avoir une réduction de la capacité de freinage ou une perte de la capacité de freinage arrière. Risques pour la sécurité : Une réduction de la capacité de freinage ou une perte de la capacité de freinage arrière pourrait accroître la distance d'arrêt et augmenter les risques d'accident. Mesures correctives : PACCAR doit aviser les propriétaires par la poste et leur demander d'amener leur camion chez un concessionnaire pour faire l'inspection de l'espace entre la soupape de l'assistance au démarrage en côte et l'essieu arrière. Le concessionnaire doit réarranger l'assemblage de la soupape au besoin.
