The issue

This recall was replaced by Transport Canada Recall No. 2022-464. Issue: On certain motorcycles, the link strut that connects the rear suspension to the frame could break. If this happens, the motorcycle can drop suddenly and contact the rear wheel. This could cause a sudden loss of stability or a loss of control. Safety Risk: A loss of stability or control could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: BMW Motorrad will contact owners by mail and instruct you to bring your motorcycle to a dealer to replace the rear link strut.

Ce campagne a été remplacé par le no 2022-464 de Transports Canada. Problème : Sur certaines motos, la biellette qui relie la suspension arrière au cadre pourrait se briser. Si cela se produit, la moto pourrait tomber soudainement et entrer en contact avec la roue arrière. Cela pourrait provoquer une perte soudaine de stabilité ou une perte de contrôle. Risques pour la sécurité : Une perte de stabilité ou de contrôle pourrait augmenter les risques d'accident. Mesures correctives : BMW Motorrad doit aviser les propriétaires par la poste et leur demander d'amener leur moto chez un concessionnaire pour remplacer la biellette de raccordement de la suspension arrière.
