The issue

Issue: On certain vehicles, a bracket that secures the engine block heater wiring harness in the engine compartment may be missing. As a result, the wiring could be damaged by contact with the engine drive belt. If this happens, the wiring could overheat or melt when the block heater is plugged in. Safety Risk: Engine block heater wiring that overheats or melts could create the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: Nissan will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect, and if necessary, install the missing bracket for the block heater wiring. The dealer will also inspect the engine drive belt and surrounding area for any damage. Nissan recommends that you should not use the engine block heater until the recall inspection and repairs have been completed.

Problème : Sur certains véhicules, un support qui fixe le faisceau de câbles du chauffe-moteur dans le compartiment moteur pourrait être manquant. Par conséquent, le faisceau pourrait être endommagé par contact avec la courroie d'entraînement du moteur. Si cela se produisait, le faisceau pourrait surchauffer ou fondre lorsque le chauffe-moteur est branché. Risques pour la sécurité : Un faisceau de câbles de chauffe-moteur qui surchauffe ou fond pourrait créer un risque d'incendie. Mesures correctives : Nissan doit aviser les propriétaires par la poste et leur demander d'amener leur véhicule chez un concessionnaire pour faire inspecter et, au besoin, poser le support manquant pour le faisceau de câbles du chauffe-moteur. Le concessionnaire doit aussi inspecter la courroie d'entraînement du moteur et la zone environnante pour vérifier qu'elles ne sont pas endommagées. Nissan recommande de ne pas utiliser le chauffe-moteur tant que l'inspection et les réparations prévues par le présent rappel n'auront pas été effectuées.
