The issue

Issue: Over time, the 12-V power wire for the boom stow sensor on certain aerial devices could be damaged by contact with a sharp edge. If this happens, the wire could short circuit and blow the fuse for the ignition circuit. This can cause the engine to shut off suddenly while driving. Safety Risk: A sudden loss of engine power could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Altec Industries will notify owners by mail and instruct you to contact Altec Service to add a relay that is fused separately from the ignition circuit.

Problème : Au fil du temps, le fil d'alimentation à 12 V du capteur de rangement de la flèche de certains dispositifs aériens pourrait s'endommager en entrant en contact avec un bord coupant. Si cela se produisait, le fil pourrait subir un court-circuit et faire sauter le fusible du circuit d'allumage. Le moteur pourrait s'arrêter soudainement pendant la conduite. Risques pour la sécurité : Une perte soudaine de puissance moteur peut augmenter les risques d'accident. Mesures correctives : Altec Industries doit aviser les propriétaires par la poste et leur demander de communiquer avec Altec Service pour ajouter un relais protégé par des fusibles distincts du circuit d'allumage.
