The issue

Issue: On certain aerial devices, a hydraulic hose may have been incorrectly installed between the cylinder port and load-holding valve instead of metal tubing. If the hose gets damaged, the platform or load could move suddenly. Safety Risk: Uncontrolled movement of the platform or load could increase the risk of injury to the operator and people nearby. Corrective Actions: Altec Industries will notify owners by mail and advise you to contact Altec Service to inspect if a hydraulic hose is installed, and replace it with metal tubing as required.

Problème : Sur certains dispositifs aériens, un tuyau hydraulique pourrait avoir été installé entre l'orifice du vérin et le clapet de retenue de la charge, au lieu d'un tuyau métallique. Si le tuyau est endommagé, la plate-forme ou la charge pourrait se déplacer brusquement. Risques pour la sécurité : Un mouvement incontrôlé de la plate-forme ou de la charge pourrait augmenter le risque de blessure pour l'opérateur et les personnes se trouvant à proximité. Mesures correctives : Altec Industries doit aviser les propriétaires par la poste et leur demander de contacter le service après-vente d'Altec pour faire vérifier si un tuyau hydraulique est installé et, au besoin, le faire remplacer par un tuyau métallique.
