The issue

Issue: On certain trucks that have the air tank mounted behind the fuel tank, the U-bolts that attach the air tank to the side of the frame may be too long. As a result, a bolt could damage the fuel tank and create a fuel leak. Safety Risk: A fuel leak can create the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: PACCAR will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a dealership to inspect the clearance of the U-bolts that attach the air tank to the side of the frame. If the bolts are too long, the dealer will cut off the excess length. If the fuel tank has damage from contacting a bolt, it will be replaced.

Problème : Sur certains camions dont le réservoir d'air comprimé est situé derrière le réservoir de carburant, les boulons en U qui fixent le réservoir d'air comprimé au côté du châssis pourraient être trop longs. Par conséquent, un boulon pourrait endommager le réservoir de carburant et provoquer une fuite de carburant. Risques pour la sécurité : Une fuite de carburant peut créer un risque d'incendie. Mesures correctives : PACCAR doit aviser les propriétaires par la poste et leur demander d'amener leur camion chez un concessionnaire pour faire inspecter l'espace entre les boulons en U qui fixent le réservoir d'air comprimé au côté du châssis. Si les boulons sont trop longs, le concessionnaire coupera l'excès de longueur. Si le réservoir de carburant est endommagé par le contact avec un boulon, il sera remplacé.
