The risk
The product poses a risk of injuries because it is possible that during engine warm-up the non-return valve within the brake vacuum pump will fail to release and will not continue to supply vacuum to the brake booster. Drivers may experience a hard brake pedal with increased stopping distances which may lead to an accident.
Product: The recall (Recall Ref: 9U225) concerns vehicles equipped with a 2.0L Duratorq (DW10) Diesel engine, produced between 1 November 2008 and 12 March 2009.
