Service bulletins
What Genesis told its dealers about the 2017 Genesis G80: known faults, fixes and updates.
| Bulletin | Summary |
|---|---|
| 11009768 | Certain GV70 (JK1, JK1A), GV80 (JX1) and G80 (RG3) vehicles may have a hum or whine noise condition from the rear differential at certain speeds. This bulletin describes the procedure to inspect the vehicle for the hum or whine noise and if necessary to tighten the rear differential lock nut first. If the hum or whine noise remains, then replace the rear differential or other driveline components as necessary. |
| 11006825 | This bulletin provides information to inspect and replace the front or rear wheel bearing hub assemblies for all Genesis vehicles. This procedure is applicable when noise (whirring, roaring, grinding, rumbling, etc.) is present which gets louder when driving with more speed. |
| 10253275 | This TSB provides a procedure to diagnose and replace, if necessary, an automatic transmission with Incorrect Ratio DTC (transmission clutch slip in gear above limit) listed on Page 2. |
| 10253049 | Genesis applies a Paint Protection Film (PPF) on new vehicles before delivery to dealerships. It provides a barrier between the paint and contaminants, such as rail dust, acid rain, and industrial fallout. In rare cases, the paint can become clouded under the PPF. These spots are the result of moisture trapped between the PPF and the paint. |
| 10253044 | This bulletin provides the procedure to repair the panoramic sunroof creaking noise originating from the panoramic moving glass assembly. Applicable |
| 10253037 | This TSB provides a procedure to replace the solenoids listed below for slipping, shift flare and/or harsh shift during the 2~3, 3~4 or 4~5 upshift. |
| 10253030 | Some vehicles may experience seat noise from seat bottom when vehicle is turning. This bulletin describes the procedure to install an e-ring clip to the tilt pipe housing on the front seat. |
| 10253027 | If you are servicing a vehicle with a transmission slipping concern, follow the Service Procedure shown below and perform a stall test. This TSB provides a procedure to test each clutch in the transmission. If the vehicle fails the stall test, replace the transmission. PASS: Stall speed is between 1700~2900 rpm (See shop manual for stall speed). FAIL: Engine revs to redline limit (6,000~6,500 rpm). If so, replace the transmission. |
| 10238378 | Certain 2017-2020MY G80 vehicles may exceed evaporative emissions standards due to Onboard Refueling Vapor Recovery (ORVR) system. To correct this symptom, install an auxiliary canister assembly between the canister and Canister Close Valve (CCV). |
| 10238375 | Certain 17-18MY Genesis G80 (DH) vehicles may exceed evaporative emissions standards due to Onboard Refueling Vapor Recovery (ORVR) system. To correct this symptom, an auxiliary canister assembly between the canister and Canister Close Valve (CCV) will be installed. |
| 10235568 | Certain 2017-2020MY G80 vehicles may exceed evaporative emissions standards due to Onboarding Refueling Vapor Recovery (ORVR) system. To correct this symptom, install an auxiliary canister assembly between the canister and Canister Close Valve (CCV). |
| 10235567 | Certain 2017-2020MY G80 vehicles may exceed evaporative emissions standards due to Onboard Refueling Vapor Recovery (ORVR) system. To correct this symptom, install an auxiliary canister assembly between the canister and Canister Close Valve (CCV). |
| 10235566 | Hyundai applies a Paint Protection Film (PPF) on new vehicles before delivery to dealerships. It provides a barrier between the paint and contaminants, such as rail dust, acid rain, and industrial fallout. In rare cases, the paint can become clouded under the PPF. These spots are the result of moisture trapped between the PPF and the paint. |
| 10230903 | This bulletin provides information regarding condensation related to the accumulated moisture in the headlamp, rear combination lamp, daytime running lamp (DRL), or fog lamp. This TSB illustrates the various causes of condensation inside the lamp assembly. |
