What Genesis told its dealers about the 2020 Genesis G80: known faults, fixes and updates.
| Bulletin | Summary |
|---|---|
| 11009768 | Certain GV70 (JK1, JK1A), GV80 (JX1) and G80 (RG3) vehicles may have a hum or whine noise condition from the rear differential at certain speeds. This bulletin describes the procedure to inspect the vehicle for the hum or whine noise and if necessary to tighten the rear differential lock nut first. If the hum or whine noise remains, then replace the rear differential or other driveline components as necessary. |
| 11006825 | This bulletin provides information to inspect and replace the front or rear wheel bearing hub assemblies for all Genesis vehicles. This procedure is applicable when noise (whirring, roaring, grinding, rumbling, etc.) is present which gets louder when driving with more speed. |
| 10253053 | This TSB provides consolidated diagnosis and repair information, currently in the shop manual, to address DTC U0109 / U010900 related to a communication error with the Fuel Pump Control Module (FPCM). |
| 10253049 | Genesis applies a Paint Protection Film (PPF) on new vehicles before delivery to dealerships. It provides a barrier between the paint and contaminants, such as rail dust, acid rain, and industrial fallout. In rare cases, the paint can become clouded under the PPF. These spots are the result of moisture trapped between the PPF and the paint. |
| 10253048 | This TSB provides a procedure to diagnose and repair a transmission for the following Incorrect Ratio DTC (transmission clutch slipping more than 200 rpm in gear). |
| 10253046 | Certain 2019-2020 G80 (DH) vehicles may have a condition where the seat backboard comes loose. This bulletin describes the procedure to replace the seat backboard clip. |
| 10253043 | This bulletin provides a procedure to diagnose an 8-speed automatic transaxle with a harsh and/or delayed shift. |
| 10253042 | This bulletin provides a procedure to transfer oil pressure data to the TCU using GDS Mobile. This procedure is necessary to reduce the TCU learning time and improve the shift quality. Before replacing an automatic transmission: Input the data into the TCU using the GDS. Before replacing a TCU: Back up the oil pressure data from the old TCU into the GDS and then transfer the data to the new TCM. |
| 10253038 | This bulletin provides a procedure to transfer oil pressure data to the TCU using GDS Mobile. This procedure is necessary to reduce the TCU learning time and improve the shift quality. Before replacing an automatic transmission (Pages 2~3): Input the data from the new transmission into the TCU using the GDS. Before replacing a TCU (Pages 4~6): Back up the oil pressure data from the old TCU into the GDS and then transfer the data to the new TCM. |
