The issue
On certain vehicles, a clip on the shifter mechanism inside the console may become dislodged preventing indication of the correct gear under conditions of darkness. Also, the clip could bind part of the shifter mechanism in a way which would prevent the gear detents from operating; hence an inadvertent bump of the shifter could place the shifter in an undesired gear position. Both of these conditions could occur without prior warning and cause an accident. Correction: Dealers will replace the clip, transmission shift indicator slot.

Sur certains véhicules, le clip du méchanisme de changement de vitesses se trouvant à l'intérieur de la console peut se déplacer, empêchant de voir la vitesse engagée quant il fait sombre. Le clip peut provoquer le grippage du mécanisme de changement de vitesses et nuire au fonctionnement des crans d'embrayage. Un coup accidentel contre le mécanisme pourrait aussi provoquer un changement de vitesses non souhaité. Ces conditions constituent des risques d'accident.
