The issue
On certain ATV's, if the steering wheel is turned to the full-lock position, the shock of striking an object with one of the front wheels can fracture the front steering knuckle even if the vehicle speed is not excessive. The fracture occurs between the junction with the steering tie rod and the wheel, and will result in loss of steering control to one front wheel of the vehicle. Correction: Upper steering stop bolts will be replaced with rubber dampers. Some models will receive a modification to the lower steering stop mounting bracket if they are so equipped.

Sur certains VTT, quand le volant est complètement braqué d’un côté et qu’une roue avant heurte un obstacle, le choc peut rompre la fusée de direction avant, même si le véhicule roule lentement. La rupture se produit dans la jonction entre la biellette de direction et la roue et entraîne une perte de la maîtrise des roues avant. Correction : Les boulons d’arrêt supérieurs de la direction devront être remplacés par des amortisseurs en caoutchouc. Sur certains modèles. le support de montage de la butée inférieure de la direction devra être modifié au besoin.
