The issue
On certain vehicles, if the steering is turned to the full-lock position, the shock of striking an object with one of the front wheels can fracture the front steering knuckle even if the vehicle speed is not excessive. The fracture occurs between the junction with the steering tie rod and the wheel and will result in loss of steering control to one front wheel of the vehicle. Correction: The upper steering stop bolts will be replaced with rubber dampers and will receive a modification to the lower steering stop mounting bracket and frame boss. Owner's manuals will be updated with information regarding the new steering stop dampers.

Sur certains véhicules, si le guidon est complètement braqué, le fait de heurter un obstacle avec une des roues avant peut faire briser la fusée de cette dernière, même à basse vitesse. La rupture, qui se produit dans le joint entre la barre d’accouplement et la roue, fera perdre au conducteur la maîtrise de la roue touchée. Correction : Les boulons de butée supérieurs de la direction devront être remplacés par des amortisseurs en caoutchouc et le support de montage de la butée inférieure et le bossage du cadre devront être modifiés. Le guide d’entretien devra être mis à jour pour refléter les modifications apportées aux amortisseurs de butée de la direction.
