The issue
On certain vehicles, the cotter pin securing the joint pin connecting the rear brake pedal to the master cylinder rod assembly may fail. If the cotter pin breaks, the joint pin can become loose, disconnecting the brake pedal from the master cylinder rod assembly resulting in loss of rear braking ability. Loss of rear braking could cause the rider to lose control and a crash could occur. Correction: A new cotter pin with instructions for installation will be sent to owners of affected vehicles.

Sur certains véhicules, la goupille fendue qui retient l'axe de la pédale du frein arrière à la tige du maître-cylindre peut briser. Si c'est le cas, il se peut que l'axe prenne du jeu et que la pédale se désolidarise de la tige du maître-cylindre, ce qui entraînera une absence de freinage à l'arrière. Il se pourrait donc que le conducteur perte la maîtrise de sa moto et soit victime d'un accident s'il tente d'utiliser le frein arrière. Correction : On devra envoyer aux propriétaires des véhicules visés une nouvelle goupille fendue et des instructions pour la poser.
