The issue

On certain vehicles, improper heat treatment of the front hub assemblies may allow the development of a circumferential crack on the roll formed end of the hub when vehicle loading is applied. This condition can result in axial movement of the wheel, causing front end noise and steering wheel shudder, and the potential for wheel detachment and/or loss of steering control resulting in a crash. Correction: Dealers will inspect and, if required, replace the front hub assemblies.

Sur certains véhicules, un traitement thermique inadéquat des moyeux avant pourrait permettre le développement d'une fissure circonférentielle sur l'extrémité laminée du moyeu lorsque le véhicule est chargé. Cela pourrait causer un mouvement axial de la roue, ce qui causerait du bruit au niveau du train avant, une secousse au niveau du volant et pourrait faire en sorte qu'une roue se détache ou que le conducteur perde le contrôle de la direction, ce qui causerait un accident. Correction : Les concessionnaires devront inspecter et, le cas échéant, remplacer les moyeux avant.
