The issue
On certain school buses, the rear emergency exit exterior door handle may be severely weakened over time by corrosion. In the event of an emergency, a person on the outside of the bus may break the door handle trying to open the emergency exit, potentially delaying evacuation and increasing the risk of personal injury to the vehicle's occupants. Correction: Dealers will replace the aluminium handles with more robust versions.

Sur certains autobus scolaires, la solidité de la poignée de portière extérieure arrière pourrait être grandement diminuée à la longue par la corrosion. En cas d'urgence, une personne située à l'extérieur de l'autobus pourrait briser la poignée de portière en essayant d'ouvrir la portière, ce qui pourrait retarder l'évacuation et augmenter les risques que les occupants du véhicule soient blessés. Correction : Les concessionnaires devront remplacer les poignées en aluminium par des poignées plus robustes.
