The issue

Certain vehicles fail to conform to Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 103 - Windshield Defrosting and Defogging. Software in the Electronic Climate Control (ECC) module may disable the ability to adjust the Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) system settings. If this happens, the driver will not be able to control the heating, cooling, and ventilation of the vehicle. Loss of windshield defrosting and defogging function may, under certain driving conditions, compromise the driver's ability to see the road and its users, which could result in a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will reprogram the ECC module.

Certains véhicules ne satisfont pas aux exigences de la Norme de Sécurité des Véhicules Automobiles du Canada  103 – Dégivrage et désembuage du pare-brise. Le logiciel du module de commande électronique du climat pourrait faire en sorte qu'il soit impossible de régler les réglages du système de Chauffage, Ventilation, Climatisation (CVC). Si cela se produisait, le conducteur ne pourrait contrôler le chauffage, le refroidissement et la ventilation du véhicule. Une perte des fonctions de dégivrage et de désembuage du pare-brise pourrait, dans certaines conditions de conduite, compromettre la capacité du conducteur à voir la route et ses utilisateurs, ce qui pourrait causer un accident, endommager des biens matériels ou blesser quelqu'un. Correction : Les concessionnaires devront reprogrammer le module de commande électronique du climat.
