The issue

On certain motorhomes, wiring for the catalytic converter's oxygen sensor may not be properly secured. As such, the wiring may contact the exhaust and melt/short, which could result in Check Engine Light illumination and, in some instances, the engine to shut down while driving. Engine stalling would result in lost propulsion which, in conjunction with traffic and road conditions, and the driver's reactions, could increase the risk of a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will secure the oxygen sensor wiring by installing an additional fastener to the existing clamp.

Sur certaines autocaravanes, le filage de la sonde à oxygène du convertisseur catalytique pourrait ne pas être adéquatement fixé. Le filage pourrait entrer en contact avec l'échappement et fondre/court-circuiter, ce qui pourrait faire en sorte que le témoin d'anomalie du moteur s'allume, et que, dans certains cas, le moteur s'arrête pendant que le véhicule roule. Si le moteur calait, cela entraînerait une perte de propulsion qui, en conjonction avec la densité de la circulation, l'état de la route et les réactions du conducteur, pourrait augmenter les risques d'accident, endommager des biens matériels ou blesser quelqu'un. Correction : Les concessionnaires devront fixer le filage de la sonde à oxygène en posant un dispositif de fixation supplémentaire sur la bride existante.
