The issue

On certain trucks, the bolts used to secure the fifth wheel hitch assembly to the frame may not have received adequate tightening torque during vehicle assembly. This could allow the mounting bolts to fail and the fifth wheel assembly, as well as the trailer, to separate from the tractor. A towed unit separating from the towing vehicle could strike another vehicle, stationary object, or bystander, causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will inspect the mounting bolts and replace as required.

Sur certains camions, les boulons utilisés pour fixer la sellette d'attelage au châssis pourraient ne pas avoir été assez serrés pendant le montage du véhicule. Cela pourrait permettre aux boulons de fixation de faire défaut, et à la sellette et la remorque de se détacher du tracteur. Une unité remorquée qui se détache du véhicule tracteur pourrait percuter un autre véhicule, un objet stationnaire ou une personne se trouvant à proximité, ce qui endommagerait des biens matériels ou blesserait quelqu'un. Correction : Les concessionnaires devront inspecter les boulons de fixation et les remplacer au besoin.
