Recall 2013008

The issue

Certain vehicles fail to conform to Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 114 – Theft Protection and Rollaway Prevention. Specifically, the ignition key can be removed from the ignition when it is not in the OFF position. This could result in unintended vehicle movement, which could cause a crash resulting in property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will replace the ignition lock cylinder.

Certains véhicules ne satisfont pas à la NSVAC 114 – Protection contre le vol et immobilisation. En particulier, la clé de contact peut être retirée du contact lorsqu'elle est en position OFF. Ceci pourrait produire le déplacement inattendu du véhicule, et causer un accident avec dommages matériels et/ou blessures. Correction : Les concessionnaires devront remplacer le barillet de l'interrupteur d'allumage.
