The issue

On certain trucks, an internal defect in the ignition switch can cause the starter to engage when the key is partially inserted. This would allow the engine to start unexpectedly, which could injure someone working in the engine compartment. Also, manual transmission vehicles without the neutral start option may move unexpectedly if the transmission is in gear at the time the key is inserted. This could result in a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the ignition switch assembly.

Dans certains camions, un défaut interne de l'interrupteur d'allumage peut causer l'activation du démarreur lorsque la clé est partiellement insérée. Cela pourrait causer le démarrage inattendu du moteur, ce qui pourrait blesser quelqu'un qui travaille dans le compartiment moteur. De plus, les véhicules à boîtes de vitesse manuelles sans interrupteur de démarrage au point mort peuvent se déplacer de façon imprévue si la boîte de vitesses est embrayée lorsque la clé est insérée. Cela pourrait causer un accident, endommager des biens matériels ou blesser quelqu'un. Correction : Les concessionnaires devront inspecter et, si nécessaire, remplacer l'interrupteur d'allumage.
