The issue

The stop/turn/tail lights used on certain vehicles may not comply with the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (CMVSS) 108 - Lighting System and Retroreflective Devices. The plastic lamp housing may shrink, causing the light to fall out of the light retention ring . In this situation, the light would no longer comply with the mounting requirements of CMVSS 108 and visibility to other motorists would be affected. This could increase the risk of a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will replace affected lights.

Les feux d'arrêt/de virage/arrière utilisés sur certains véhicules pourraient ne pas se conformer aux exigences de la NSVAC 108 – Système d'éclairage et dispositifs rétroréfléchissants. Le carter de lampe en plastique pourrait rétrécir, ce qui ferait en sorte que la lumière tomberait hors de son anneau de retenue. Dans cette situation, la lumière ne serait plus conforme aux exigences de fixation de la NSVAC 108 et la visibilité du véhicule pour les autres automobilistes serait moins grande. Cela pourrait augmenter les risques d'un accident endommageant des biens matériels ou blessant quelqu'un. Correction : Les concessionnaires devront remplacer les lumières visées.
