The issue
On certain vehicles the front hood lock may have been improperly manufactured. The front hood lock upper components, on which the catch bar are riveted to the mounting plate, were not produced according to specifications. This could result in the hood opening unexpectedly while the vehicle is being driven. This could compromise the driver’s ability to see the road and its users, as well as cause damage to the windshield, which could result in a crash causing injury and/or property damage. Correction: Dealers will replace the upper part of the lock on the front hood.

Sur certains véhicules, le loquet du capot avant pourrait avoir été mal fabriqué. Son composant supérieur, sur lequel la barre d'agrippement a été rivetée à la plaque de fixation, n'a pas été produit conformément aux spécifications. Cela pourrait faire en sorte que le capot s'ouvre subitement pendant que le véhicule roule. Cela pourrait empêcher le conducteur de voir la route et ses usagers, et endommager le parebrise, ce qui pourrait causer un accident blessant quelqu'un ou endommageant des biens matériels. Correction : Les concessionnaires devront remplacer la partie supérieure du loquet sur le capot avant.
