The issue

Issue: On certain motorhomes, there may be a loose connection between the battery cables and the Battery Isolation Manager (BIM) or the Battery Isolation Relay (BIR). A lose connection could cause a premature failure of the BIM/BIR and/or cause electrical arcing (sparks). Safety Risk: Electrical arcing could create the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: Thor Motor Coach will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a dealer to install lock washers to secure the battery cable to the BIM/BIR. The BIM/BIR will be replaced as necessary.

Problème : Dans certaines autocaravanes, il pourrait y avoir une connexion desserrée entre les câbles de batterie et le gestionnaire d'isolement de batterie (BIM) ou le relais d'isolement de batterie (BIR). Une connexion desserrée pourrait causer une défaillance prématurée du BIM/BIR, et/ou causer un arc électrique (étincelles). Risque pour la sécurité : Un arc électrique pourrait déclencher un feu. Mesure corrective : Thor Motor Coach avisera les propriétaires par la poste. Les propriétaires touchés devront amener leur véhicule chez un concessionnaire afin de faire installer des rondelles de blocage pour fixer le câble de batterie sur le BIM/BIR. Le BIM/BIR sera remplacé au besoin.
