The issue

Issue: On certain vehicles, the cable that connects the negative battery terminal to the frame may be too short and could break. If this happens, it will not be possible to start the engine. Safety Risk: In certain situations, a vehicle that cannot be re-started could create an increased risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Hino will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a dealer to install an extension bracket on the negative battery terminal. Dealers will also inspect the ground cable terminal for damage. If damage is found, the cable will be replaced.

Problème : Sur certains véhicules, le câble qui relie la borne négative de la batterie au châssis pourrait être trop court et se rompre. Si cela se produisait, il serait impossible de démarrer le moteur. Risques pour la sécurité : Dans certaines situations, un véhicule qui ne peut pas être redémarré pourrait créer un risque accru de collision. Mesures correctives : Hino doit aviser les propriétaires par la poste et leur demander d'amener leur camion chez un concessionnaire pour faire installer une rallonge sur la borne négative de la batterie. Les concessionnaires inspecteront également la borne du câble de masse pour détecter tout dommage. Si des dommages sont constatés, le câble sera remplacé.
