The issue
Issue: On certain trucks, the pivot joint for the molded hood mirrors may fail. If this happens, the upper half of a mirror could detach and fall from the truck, if it was not built with a wire harness or tether. Safety Risk: A mirror that falls from the truck could create a road hazard for others and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Paccar will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a dealership to inspect the hood mirrors, and replace them if there is no wire harness or tether.

Problème : Sur certains camions, le joint pivotant des rétroviseurs de capot moulés pourrait se briser. Si cela se produisait, la partie supérieure d'un rétroviseur pourrait se détacher et tomber du camion, s'il n'a pas été construit avec un faisceau de câbles ou une attache. Risques pour la sécurité : Un miroir qui tombe d'un camion pourrait créer un danger pour les autres usagers de la route et augmenter les risques d'accident. Mesures correctives : Paccar doit aviser les propriétaires par la poste et leur demander d'amener leur camion chez un concessionnaire pour faire inspecter les rétroviseurs de capot et les remplacer s'il n'y a pas de faisceau de fils ou d'attache.
