10252589Safety Recall INTERIM NOTIFICATION Parts are not currently available for this safety recall. This bulletin will be updated once repair parts are available. The right-hand shift stalk may have an improper wire harness terminal crimp within the wire harness connector. Loss of communication between the right-hand shift stalk and the transmission may result in the vehicle becoming disabled after it comes to a stop thereby increasing the risk of crash or injury. A transmission fault will appear on the dash display if communication is lost.
10251343The battery box located directly under the driver's side doorsteps of the cab is equipped with a 50A fuse and fuse holder that is connected directly to the battery for constant power. This fuse powers a 70A relay that is used for the safety systems of the truck and is located on the right rear side of the battery box. Due to the fitment of the battery box lid from the chassis manufacturers, moisture and debris are able to fall through the space between the battery box lid and side of the battery box body. This may lead to corrosion of the fuse and holder, which may result in failure of the fus
10251173SAFETY RECALL Certain T180/T280/T380/T480 chassis may have cab mirror glass lock rings not fully seated. This could result in loss of mirror glass, reducing rear visibility and increasing the risk of an accident or injury. Missing mirrors cause non-compliance with FMVSS 111 / CMVSS 111. Mirror glass lock rings must be inspected and, if necessary, reseated.
10251170Safety Recall Inspection procedures are available. Steering gear serial numbers must be inspected to determine suspect gears. Certain steering gears may have been assembled incorrectly, causing the gear to fracture. This can cause a loss of steering control, increasing the risk of a crash.
10248329Safety Recall 23KWJ: T280/T380/T480 Delayed Trailer Brake Release T280/T380/T480 Delayed Trailer Brake Release. Safety Recall Certain T280/T380/T480 chassis built with 2.1m Medium Duty End of Frame Trailer Connections and Tractor Protection Valves may not meet the standard trailer brake release timing requirements by 0.5 seconds. A delay in the trailer brake release may create momentary instability to the trailer and increase the risk of a crash.
10244484Safety Recall Interim Notification Certain T280/T380/T480 chassis built with 2.1m Medium Duty End of Frame Trailer Connections may not meet the standard trailer brake release timing requirements by 0.5 seconds. 10241497Safety Recall: Parts and repair procedures are now available. Kenworth has determined that a safety defect exists in certain Model Year 2023-2024 T280, T380, and T480 chassis with TX-8 transmissions and flange mounted yokes. A locking feature may not be installed on fastener threads. This may allow the driveline fasteners to become loose, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.
10237150Parts and repair procedures are now available. Kenworth has determined that a safety defect exists in certain Model Year 2021-2024 T280, T380, and T480 chassis with air brakes. The brake pedal plunger which connects the brake pedal to the brake valve may dislodge after the pedal is fully depressed, and rapidly released (side slip foot brake release). If the plunger in the brake pedal assembly dislodges, the driver may be unable to apply the service brakes, which may increase the risk of a crash.
