The issue

Issue: On a small number of trucks, the bolts that attach the driveshaft may loosen. If this happens, the driveshaft could separate from the truck and cause a loss of power to the wheels. Safety Risk: A sudden loss of power to the wheels could increase the risk of a crash. Additionally, a driveshaft that detaches from a vehicle could create a hazard for others and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: PACCAR will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a dealership to replace the driveshaft bolts.

Problème : Sur un petit nombre de camions, les boulons qui fixent l'arbre de transmission pourraient se desserrer. Si cela se produisait, l'arbre de transmission pourrait se détacher du camion et causer une perte de puissance au niveau des roues. Risques pour la sécurité : Une perte soudaine de puissance au niveau des roues pourrait augmenter le risque d'un accident. De plus, un arbre de transmission qui se détache d'un véhicule pourrait créer un danger pour les autres usagers de la route et augmenter le risque d'un accident. Mesures correctives : PACCAR doit aviser les propriétaires par la poste et leur demander d'amener leur camion chez un concessionnaire pour faire remplacer les boulons de l'arbre de transmission.
