The issue

On certain vehicles, water may enter and corrode the rear licence plate lamp socket causing it to operate intermittently or not at all. The left rear tail lamp may also become inoperative. The temperature of the licence plate lamp socket could increase to the point that it may begin to soften and melt. If the socket assembly were to reach the point of melting, the occupants of the vehicle may notice an odor and smoke at the rear doors of the vehicle. If this odor and smoke were ignored, the plastic could ignite and a fire could occur. Correction: Dealer will install a new sealed rear licence plate lamp socket assembly.

Sur certains véhicules, de l'eau peut s'infiltrer dans la douille de la lampe de la plaque d'immatriculation arrière, la corroder et y causer des interruptions d'éclairage intermittentes ou permanentes. La température de la douille peut augmenter à tel point qu'il se peut qu'elle amollisse et fonde. Si la température venait à monter au point de faire fondre la douille, les occupants du véhicule peuvent remarquer une odeur de brûlé et de la fumée qui s'infiltre par les portes arrière du véhicule. Si rien n'est fait pour corriger le problème et que l'odeur et la fumée persistent, il se peut que le plastique prenne feu. Correction : Les concessionnaires devront poser une nouvelle douille de lampe de plaque d'immatriculation étanche.
