The issue
On certain vehicles, the positive battery cable between the battery and the starter may rub against an electrical ground cable between the starter and frame rail, possibly causing an electrical short and/or fire. Correction: Dealers will inspect to determine if any chafing has occurred between the positive and negative cables. If there is no evidence of chafing, a saddle clamp will be installed to ensure cables do not rub. If there is evidence of chafing, the damaged cables will be replaced and the swivel saddle clamp installed.

Sur certains véhicules, le câble positif qui relie la batterie et le démarreur pourrait frotter contre un câble de mise à la masse entre le démarreur et le longeron de cadre de châssis, ce qui pourrait causer un court circuit ou un incendie. Correction : Les concessionnaires devront effectuer une inspection afin de déterminer si de l'usure s'est produite entre le câble positif et le câble négatif. S'il n'y a aucun signe d'usure, on devra installer une bride afin que les câbles ne frottent pas l'un contre l'autre. S'il y a signe d'usure, les câbles endommagés devront être remplacés et on devra installer une bride orientable.
