The issue

On certain vehicles, accelerator pedal movement may become rough, slow to return, or the pedal may stick in a depressed position. This could result in a loss of throttle control and a vehicle crash, causing property damage, personal injury or death. Correction: Dealers will install a steel reinforcement bar to the accelerator pedal assembly. With this reinforcement in place, the excess friction that can cause the pedal to stick is eliminated.

Sur certains véhicules le mouvement de la pédale d’accélérateur peut se coincer mécaniquement en position partiellement enfoncée ou retourner lentement en position de repos. Ce problème est occasionné par une usure ou un haut taux d’humidité. Une telle situation pourrait provoquer une perte de contrôle du véhicule, une collision et causer des dommages matériels, des blessures ou même la mort. Correction : Les concessionnaires devront poser une barre de renfort en acier sur l’accélérateur. Avec ce renfort en place, l’excès de frottement qui peut faire coller l’accélérateur est éliminée.
