The issue

On certain vehicles, a situation may occur where the operator is required to exert a force greater than expected to initiate the turning of the steering handlebar of the vehicle in order to correct its trajectory. At this increased level of force, the handlebar may be turned more than intended. If this occurs, an operator may steer the vehicle out of the driving lane or off the roadway, increasing the risk of a crash, resulting in possible serious injury or death to operators or bystanders. Correction: Dealers will replace the steering gear box with an updated version.

Sur certains véhicules, le conducteur pourrait devoir exercer une force plus grande que prévu pour tourner le guidon afin de corriger la trajectoire. Le guidon pourrait alors tourner plus que prévu. Si cela se produisait, le conducteur pourrait changer de voie ou quitter la route, ce qui augmente les risques d'accident pouvant blesser gravement ou tuer le conducteur ou des personnes se trouvant à proximité. Correction : Les concessionnaires devront remplacer le boîtier de direction par un boîtier d’une version à jour.
