The issue

On certain vehicles equipped with a 1MZ-FE or 3MZ-FE V6 engine, the crankshaft pulley may fail. The outer ring may become misaligned, or it may not properly rotate, causing noise and/or illumination of the discharge warning light. In addition, the power steering belt may become detached from the crankshaft pulley, which could result in a sudden increase in steering effort. A loss of steering power assist could result in a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the crankshaft pulley.

Sur certains véhicules munis d'un moteur V6 1MZ-FE ou 3MZ-FE, la poulie du vilebrequin pourrait faire défaut. L'anneau extérieur pourrait se désaligner ou ne pas tourner adéquatement, ce qui produirait du bruit ou allumerait le voyant de déchargement. De plus, la courroie de la direction assistée pourrait se détacher de la poulie du vilebrequin, ce qui pourrait causer une augmentation soudaine de l'effort à faire pour tourner le volant. Une perte de l'assistance de la direction pourrait causer un accident, endommager des biens matériels ou blesser quelqu'un. Correction : Les concessionnaires devront inspecter et, si nécessaire, remplacer la poulie du vilebrequin.
