The issue

On certain vehicles, the hardware used to affix the windshield wiper linkage to the wiper motor may have been subject to rust and corrosion before assembly. This contamination may have prevented the bolt/nut from being tightened adequately. As a result, the bolt/nut may loosen to a point where the linkage detaches from the wiper motor, which would cause the wipers to stop functioning. Loss of windshield wiping capability, should it occur during a rainy/snowy day, may compromise the driver's ability to see the road and its users, which could result in a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will replace the hardware in question.

Sur certains véhicules, le boulon/l'écrou utilisé pour fixer la tringlerie des essuie-glaces au moteur d'essuie-glace pourrait avoir rouillé et s'être corrodé avant le montage. Cela pourrait avoir empêché le serrage adéquat du boulon/de l'écrou. En conséquence, le boulon/l'écrou pourrait se desserrer au point où la tringlerie se détacherait du moteur d'essuie-glace, et les essuie-glaces cesseraient de fonctionner. Si les essuie-glaces cessaient de fonctionner lorsqu'il pleut ou qu'il neige, cela pourrait empêcher le conducteur de voir la route et ses usagers, ce qui pourrait causer un accident, endommager des biens matériels ou blesser quelqu'un. Correction : Les concessionnaires devront remplacer le boulon/l'écrou en question.
