The issue

On certain vehicles, the roll pin may not have been installed on the upper yoke on the steering shaft during assembly. If the roll pin is missing, the steering shaft may disconnect from the yoke. Separation of the shaft from the yoke would result in complete loss of steering, increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will inspect the steering shaft, and replace it if the roll pin is found missing.

Sur certains véhicules, la goupille cylindrique pourrait ne pas avoir été installée sur la fourche supérieure sur l'arbre de direction lors de l'assemblage. Si la goupille cylindrique est absente, l'arbre de direction pourrait se détacher de la fourche. Si l'arbre se sépare de la fourche, cela provoquera une perte complète de la direction, ce qui augmentera les risques d'accident pouvant entraîner des blessures ou des dommages matériels (ou les deux). Correction : Les concessionnaires devront inspecter l'arbre de direction, ainsi que le remplacer si la goupille cylindrique est absente.
