The issue
Certain motorhomes built on a Spartan chassis may fail to comply with the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (CMVSS) 121 - Air Brake Systems. The parking brake may not hold the vehicle in place when parked on a grade. If this occurs, the motorhome could roll away, which would increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Spartan service centers will replace the rear brake chambers.

Certaines autocaravanes construites sur un châssis Spartan pourraient ne pas se conformer aux exigences de la norme de sécurité des véhicules automobiles du Canada (NSVAC) 121 - Systèmes de freinage à air comprimé. Le frein de stationnement pourrait ne pas maintenir le véhicule en place lorsque le véhicule est stationné dans une pente. Si cela se produisait, l'autocaravane pourrait se mettre en mouvement, ce qui augmenterait les risques d'un accident blessant quelqu'un ou endommageant des biens matériels. Correction : Les centres d'entretien Spartan devront remplacer les récepteurs de freinage arrière.
