The issue

Issue: On certain vehicles, the driver-front airbag inflator could be defective. This could cause the airbag to deploy with more force than normal. It could also cause the inflator to rupture. If the airbag inflator ruptures, fragments could be propelled toward the occupants or cause damage to the airbag and prevent it from inflating properly. Safety Risk: If the vehicle is involved in a crash where the airbag deploys, the airbag inflator could rupture and create a risk of injury or death. Corrective Actions: The company will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to replace the driver-front airbag inflator or airbag module.

Problème: Sur certains véhicules, le générateur de gaz du coussin gonflable avant pourrait être défectueux. Le coussin gonflable pourrait ainsi être déployé avec plus de force que la normale. Cela pourrait aussi causer la rupture du générateur de gaz. Si le générateur de gaz se rompt, des fragments pourraient être projetés vers les occupants du véhicule. Cela pourrait aussi causer des dommages au coussin gonflable et empêcher celui-ci de se gonfler correctement. Risque pour la sécurité: Si le véhicule est impliqué dans un accident nécessitant le déploiement des coussins gonflables, le générateur de gaz pourrait se briser et entraîner un risque de blessures ou de décès. Mesures correctives: L'entreprise avisera les propriétaires par la poste et leur demandera de se rendre avec leur véhicule à un concessionnaire pour faire remplacer le générateur de gaz du coussin gonflable avant du conducteur ou le module de coussin gonflable.
