The issue

Issue: On certain vehicles, the ESC warning light may not remain on if a fault was detected on the previous key cycle. Instead, the warning light does not turn on until the vehicle starts to move. Canadian regulations require that the ESC warning light must turn on when the vehicle is started (under these conditions). Note: This problem can only happen if there is a fault related to the power steering system. The power steering warning light would stay on to advise that there is a fault with the steering system. Safety Risk: This small error does not affect vehicle safety. Corrective Actions: This is not a recall. The company has made changes to the vehicle software to correct this issue on all new vehicles.

Problème : Sur certains véhicules, le témoin ESC pourrait ne pas demeurer allumé si une anomalie a été détectée lors du cycle clé précédent. En effet, le voyant ne s'allume que lorsque le véhicule commence à rouler. La réglementation canadienne exige que le voyant ESC s'allume lorsque le véhicule est démarré (dans ces conditions). Remarque : Ce problème ne se produit que s'il y a une défaillance du système de direction assistée. Le voyant de la direction assistée reste allumé pour signaler qu'il y a une défaillance du système de direction. Risques pour la sécurité : Ce léger problème n'affecte pas la sécurité du véhicule. Mesures correctives : Il ne s'agit pas d'un rappel. Le constructeur a apporté des modifications au logiciel du véhicule pour corriger ce problème sur tous les nouveaux véhicules.
