The issue

Issue: On certain fire trucks, a defect in the power steering pump could cause it to fail. If this happens, there could be a loss of power steering assist. Safety Risk: A loss of power steering assist may result in a sudden increase in steering effort, especially at low speeds. This could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Spartan will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your fire truck to a dealer to replace the power steering pump.

Problème : Sur certains camions à incendie, un défaut de la pompe de servodirection pourrait entraîner sa défaillance. Si cela se produit, il pourrait y avoir une perte de l'assistance de la direction. Risques pour la sécurité : Une perte de l'assistance de la direction peut provoquer une augmentation soudaine de l'effort à exercer sur le volant, surtout à basse vitesse. Cela pourrait augmenter les risques d'accident. Mesures correctives : Spartan doit aviser les propriétaires par la poste et leur demander d'amener leur camion à incendie chez un concessionnaire pour remplacer la pompe de servodirection.
