The issue

Issue: On certain trucks, the daytime running lamps (DRLs) may not turn on when the vehicle starts moving. Canadian regulations require that DRLs must be on while driving, unless the headlamps or fog lamps are switched on. Note: This recall only affects trucks that were repaired under recall 21KWD (Transport Canada recall 2021-287). Safety Risk: Driving without daytime running lights could make the vehicle less visible to others and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: PACCAR will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a dealership to update the vehicle software.

Problème : Dans certains camions, les feux de jour pourraient ne pas s'activer automatiquement pendant la conduite. La réglementation canadienne exige que les feux de jour s'allument pendant la conduite, à moins que les phares ou les phares antibrouillards soient allumés. Remarque : Le présent rappel s'applique seulement aux camions réparés dans le cadre du rappel 21KWD (rappel 2020-287 de Transports Canada). Risque pour la sécurité : Conduire sans les feux de jour pourrait rendre le véhicule moins visible et augmenter les risques d'accident. Mesures correctives : PACCAR doit aviser les propriétaires par la poste et leur demander d'amener leur camion chez un concessionnaire pour faire mettre à jour le logiciel du véhicule.
