The issue

Issue: On certain trucks, a problem in the engine control module (ECM) could cause a short circuit. If this happens, the engine could stall and you may not be able to restart it. Safety Risk: A sudden loss of engine power could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: PACCAR will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a Cummins authorized service center to replace the engine control module.

Problème : Sur certains camions, une défectuosité du module de commande du moteur pourrait provoquer un court-circuit. Si cela se produisait, le moteur pourrait caler, et il pourrait être impossible de le redémarrer. Risques pour la sécurité : Une perte soudaine de puissance motrice pourrait accroître les risques d'accident. Mesures correctives : PACCAR doit aviser les propriétaires par la poste et leur demander d'amener leur véhicule à un centre de services Cummins autorisé pour faire remplacer le module de commande du moteur.
