The issue

On certain trucks, the coupling located between the engine fuel supply pump and the air compressor may crack, causing geartrain and/or valve damage to the engine. This could cause the engine to stop running, which can disable the power steering system or stop the supply of air to the air tanks, resulting in insufficient braking power. Engine stalling would result in lost propulsion which, in conjunction with traffic and road conditions, and the driver's reactions, could increase the risk of a crash. Correction: Dealers will replace the fuel supply pump coupling.

Sur certains camions, le raccordement situé entre la pompe d’alimentation en carburant du moteur et le compresseur d’air pourrait se fissurer, ce qui endommagerait les pignons de distribution ou les soupapes du moteur. Cela pourrait faire en sorte que le moteur s’arrête, ce qui pourrait mettre la direction assistée hors service ou arrêter l’envoi d’air dans les réservoirs d’air, ce qui ferait en sorte que la puissance de freinage serait insuffisante. Si le moteur calait, cela entraînerait une perte de propulsion qui, en conjonction avec l’état de la route, la densité de la circulation et les réactions du conducteur, pourrait augmenter les risques d’accident. Correction : Les concessionnaires devront remplacer le raccord de pompe d’alimentation en carburant.
