The issue

On certain vehicles, the front passenger airbag may have been produced with an incorrect Tether Activation Unit (TAU). In the event of a crash warranting deployment of the front passenger airbag, the TAU may not open the vent, and the airbag may not vent properly. An improperly vented airbag may not protect the seated occupant as expected, and could increase the risk of injury. Correction: Dealers will replace the front passenger airbag.

Le coussin gonflable du passager avant de certains véhicules pourrait avoir été doté d'une unité d'activation de l'attache (TAU) inadéquate. Dans le cas d'une collision nécessitant le déploiement du coussin gonflable du passager avant, le TAU pourrait ne pas ouvrir l'évent et le coussin pourrait ne pas se déployer correctement. Un coussin gonflable incorrectement gonflé pourrait ne pas protéger l'occupant adéquatement et pourrait augmenter les risques de blessures. Correction : Les concessionnaires doivent remplacer le coussin gonflable du passager avant.
