The issue

On certain Volvo 744 and 745, due to the changed freedom of movement of the engine caused by the introduction of hydraulic motor mounts in the 1988 model year, there is the possibility of excessive chafing of the insulation of the positive and negative battery cables. This could result in a short circuit. Correction: Cable harness will be inspected and replaced if necessary. Cable harness will be fitted with a protective sleeve.

Sur certaines Volvo 744 et 745, suite à un changement dans la liberté de mouvement du moteur occasionné par l’introduction de supports de moteur hydrauliques avec les nouveaux modèles de 1988, il se peut que l’isolation des câbles positif et négatif de la batterie s’use prématurément. Il pourrait alors se produire un court-circuit. Correction: Le faisceau de câbles devra être inspecté et remplacé au besoin. Il devra aussi être doté d’une gaine protectrice.
