The issue

On ceratin trucks and bus chassis equipped with 7000 and 9000 pound front axles and air brakes. The front axle-to-spring u-bolts may fracture and separate due to improper heat treatment. If two u-bolts on the same side of the front axle should separate, the front axle could displace and result in a loss of steering control with little or no warning to the driver.
